THE KAHALA HOTEL & RESORT YOKOHAMA is now accepting reservations for Ehomaki, a roll of sushi that brings good fortune and makes a wish for Setsubun.

Limited quantity available at Japanese Hanagoyomi on Tuesday, February 3, 2026

THE KAHALA HOTEL & RESORT YOKOHAMA (Address: 1-1-3 Minatomirai, Nishi-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture / General Manager: Yasutoshi Abe), which celebrated its 5th anniversary in September 2025, will be selling a limited number of ehomaki (sushi rolls) at Japanese Hanagoyomi to coincide with Setsubun on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Reservations will be accepted until 12:00 on Saturday, January 31.

This dish, created by Japanese Hanagoyomi Chef Nobuhiro Aoki of Kareki, is based on the philosophy of Japanese cuisine that values the "culture of subtraction," and is focused on bringing out the natural flavor of the ingredients.Without adding any unnecessary steps, the ingredients are carefully prepared to ensure they are at their most delicious, resulting in a harmonious flavor.

The roll contains seven types of auspicious ingredients perfect for Setsubun: snow crab, steamed abalone, steamed sea urchin, tiger prawn, conger eel, dried scallop, and shredded sea bream, known as the "Seven Lucky Seafoods." The rice used is "Inochi no Ichi," a brand of rice from Gifu Prefecture that boasts firm grains and good stickiness, and retains its texture and flavor even after time has passed. The flavors of each ingredient blend together to create a taste perfect for this milestone day.
