1. Kanagawa Prefectural Museum of History

As the name suggests, this is a museum where you can learn about the history of Kanagawa Prefecture. The building is the site of the former Yokohama Specie Bank, and the Western-style building makes you feel the history of Yokohama.
This is a place where you can learn about the changes in Kanagawa from ancient times to the present day. Documents and goods are introduced.

2. Yokohama Port Opening Museum

The Yokohama Port Opening Museum is a perfect place to learn about the history of the opening of the port.
Because it is compactly organized, it takes about 1 to 2 hours to look at it slowly and carefully.
The tree planted in the courtyard is said to be the "Tamagusu tree" on the right, which is also depicted in the drawing of Admiral Perry's landing in Yokohama. There is also a stone monument that says "the place where the peace treaty was signed."

3. Yokohama Port Museum

Right next to the Landmark Tower, Nippon Maru is a sailing ship that has a large presence even from the direction of Sakuragicho Station. The long building next to it is the Yokohama Minato Museum. In June of last year, after 2 years, the renovation was completed and it came back in a beautiful shape.
The contents of the exhibition are about the history of Yokohama along the coast. Many panels and materials are displayed in an easy-to-understand way to explain how the place that was originally the sea became a landfill and developed as a port.
In addition, together with the sailing ship Nippon Maru next door, it is named "Nippon Maru Memorial Park", and you can see the inside of the sailing ship.

4. Yokohama City Museum of History

A municipal museum located in Tsuzuki Ward, a little far from the Minato Mirai area.
You probably have a city museum or prefectural museum in your hometown, but like the prefectural museum, it is a museum where you can learn about the history of the land from the beginning. The difference from prefectural is that it specializes in "Yokohama City".
It's a little far from the hotel, so you may not have many opportunities to go there, but if you've seen all the museums in the Minato Mirai area, why not visit it?
